This talk challenged orthodoxy in assessment and the speaker, Bobby Elliot, has overall responsibility for all vocational (ICT) assessment within the college and workplace sectors in Scotland. Bobby has a professional and personal interest in assessment (particularly e-assessment) and digital technologies (Web 2.0)...hence the blending of the two into "Assessment 2.0".

Biography

Bobby works for the Scottish Qualifications Authority as a Qualifications Manager, having previously worked as a teacher and lecturer for 22 years.

His last position before joining SQA in 2000 was Head of Department in a large Further Education College. Bobby's current role involves developing and maintaining qualifications relating to ICT and e-learning. He led the development of SQA's "e-qualifications" suite of awards, which included the EU's first specialist qualification in e-assessment (the Diploma in E-Assessment). Recent secondments within SQA have seen him lead the development of PC Passport and Internet Safety awards. He has a professional and personal interest in assessment (particularly e-assessment) and digital technologies (particularly Web 2.0)... hence the blending of the two into "Assessment 2.0".

Bobby has a long background in educational assessment. He has served as marker, setter, Examiner and Principal Examiner for school-based subjects.

In his present role, he has overall responsibility for all vocational (ICT) assessment within the college and workplace sectors.
