CINeSPACE

Urban CINeSPACE is a partnership with Scottish Screen, the Fraunhofer Institute and the Cities of Venice and San Sebastian. The project focuses on the way the cities' culture, history, tourism and art can be accessed through film heritage played out in a mobile virtual environment.

The three identified user groups of citizens, film lovers and cinema professionals, will use an interactive viewing device to access location and profile based content. Additionally, the system will allow users to ‘upload’ contributions in the form of video and audio clips.

As well as breaking ground in 3D visualization and immersive reality technologies, a key objective of the three year project is to develop and nurture a collaborative virtual environment for the creation and consumption of user generated content.
