IMPROVE

IMPROVE is a European Sixth Framework partnership project, led by the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, involving a number of leading technology institutions and developers including Elasis (Italy) and ViComTech (Spain).

The three year project will focus on research and development into integrated, collaborative mixed reality systems. Specifically, the project consortium will seek to improve hardware components such as the head mounted display (HMD), and address issues relating to HCI, physically based rendering and video transmission.

Ultimately IMPROVE will result in ground breaking technologies which will assist architects and automotive designers in their specific design processes by seamlessly melting together real and virtual objects.
