Our current projects are focusing on public learning spaces, health and wellbeing, creativity and multimedia and community enterprise and our collaborative project design processes are underpinned by a commitment to personal development, technological fluency and sustainability.
As a learning lab we are able to support design and build, implementation, testing and evaluation phases of a project. This ranges from the design of online creativity tools, supporting learner engagement, to using emerging technologies to transform the urban environment into a physical and virtual learning landscape. Once a project is underway we support the design and build of the online or technological elements and once implemented, test and evaluate the outputs.
We act as a catalyst, brokering innovative projects and ideas, bringing people and ideas together to identify ways that transformational learning and design can create wealth and well being. Using a collaborative approach to design that places people firmly at its core, our projects explore new models of learning; models that value learning as an innate human response to new contexts and design as a way of enabling innovation to flourish.
Urban Learning Space is at the centre of an international network of institutions, businesses, designers and technologists taking an interdisciplinary, action-research based approach to real life challenges in cities and their regions. Our projects and events provides a platform for gathering and sharing ideas and insights and identifying future trends in the relationship between design and learning.
